Abstract

Environmental problems are of vital importance for mankind. Last but not least, it concerns discharges of poorly treated sewage, solid waste, accumulated waste dumps, and related unbearable smells of air emissions therefrom. The article proposes the concept of integrated treatment of sewage sludge together with extraneous for the waste treatment plants waste: vegetable, agroindustrial production, which are preliminarily subjected to grinding, hydrolysis and siloing, the meaning of which is the transformation of sewage treatment plants into independent in terms of energy and economics enterprises through utilization of biogas and secondary products in the form of fertilizers and protein raw materials, with a general trend towards wasteless production. For toxic precipitations and organic wastes, alternative technical solutions for use and disposal are proposed, such as combustion, liquidphase oxidation, gasification, pyrolysis and thermolysis, fungal technology, production of biodegradable plastics, long-term storage in warehouses for hygienization, burial, etc.
