Rolul metadatelor în tehnologia informației

Abstract

Guvernul este unul dintre cei mai mari deţinători de resurse de informaţii și are responsabilitatea de a se asigura că aceste resurse sunt valori în creștere pentru cetăţeni, afaceri, pentru oficialii guvernului și utilizatorii din întreaga lume. Guvernul are, de asemenea, responsabilitatea de a se asigura că informaţia poate fi ușor găsită, accesată și distribuită pentru public și sectoarele publice, atâta timp cât aceștia își respectă obligaţiunile ce ţin de secret și securitate. Prin urmare, deţinerea unui standard de metadate bine structurate și aplicate consistent devine din ce în ce mai pregnantă pentru guvern, un astfel de standard ajutând cetățenii să navigheze prin multitudinea de pagini web ce conţin informaţii și să localizeze cu încredere ceea ce caută
