The Influence Of The Food Safety System Iso 22000 Implementation On Consumer Protection Improvement In The Hotel Companies In The Republic Of Croatia

Abstract

ISO 22000 is an international standard enabling the compliance of the food safety management requests. ISO 22000 Standard is a generic standard, compatible with the ISO 9001 quality system and with ISO 14001 environmental management system. The aim of this paper is to scientifically prove the influence of the ISO 22000 food management safety system to the consumer protection improvement within the hotel companies in the Republic of Croatia. In order to prove the above stated facts, the research has been conducted using the pooling method on the sample of 350 hotels in the Republic of Croatia, as well as the method of interviewing hotel managers employed in the Croatian hotels that have implemented ISO 22000 Standard. Descriptive statistics and the method of analytical hierarchy process method were used to analyze the results. Considering the results obtained, the basic hypothesis is accepted and it is concluded that ISO 22000 safety system influences the improvement of the consumer protection within the hotels in the Republic of Croatia.
