Efficiëntere detailcontroles dankzij synergie van statistische en digitale technieken: profiteren van integraal beschikbare gegevens

Abstract

Detailcontroles via steekproeven zijn een veelgebruikt instrument om voldoende en geschikte controle-informatie te verzamelen. Het op een statistische manier meenemen van integraal beschikbare gegevens over de populatie in de steekproefevaluatie leidt tot een efficiëntere controle en beter geïnformeerde beslissingen. Ondanks de praktische voordelen wordt deze aanpak echter nog weinig toegepast. De methode is voor velen nog onbekend, waardoor deze nog niet goed heeft kunnen inburgeren in de auditpraktijk. Dat is deels toe te schrijven aan technische complexiteit en aan gebrek aan uitleg. Dit artikel overbrugt de kloof tussen theorie en praktijk en demonstreert drie voordelen van het meenemen van integraal beschikbare gegevens, die steeds makkelijker verkrijgbaar zijn, in de steekproefevaluatie.
