Ruim baan voor de registerauditor

Abstract

In een periode met de nodige turbulentie in Accountantsland presenteerde de Europese Commissie in april 2021 de Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. Een gebeurtenis vanuit de externe omgeving, die zorgt voor een flinke uitdaging voor de accountantsberoepsgroep en haar beroepsorganisatie. Niet alleen het interne vraagstuk van bemensing en deskundigheid, maar ook een fors structuurvraagstuk dient zich aan. Met alleen pleisters plakken wordt deze uitdaging niet overwonnen. Een toekomstbestendige oplossing moet worden gevonden en dan kan een ferme structuurwijziging soelaas bieden. De accountant wordt een auditor. Eén van meer in een groep. Een nieuwe beroepsgroep: registerauditor. Samen met materiedeskundigen op het gebied van milieu, mens, gedrag en meer.
