Boekbespreking: Het goede leven

Abstract

In dit artikel bespreek ik het boek Het goede leven (2020, oorspronkelijk verschenen in 1996) van Fernando Savater, met als ondertitel ‘ethiek voor mensen van morgen'. Savater is hoogleraar filosofie aan de Universiteit van Madrid en schrijft over verschillende filosofische en opvoedkundige thema's. Het boek is een monoloog van de schrijver aan zijn zoon met als doel een discussie op gang te brengen over het goede leven. Het is vooral geschreven voor jongeren om hen te helpen bij de ontwikkeling tot vrijdenkende burgers. Ook accountants kunnen iets leren van dit boek. Welke keuzes maak je tijdens het controleren van de jaarrekening? Hoeveel vrijheid heb je als accountant? Kies je het goede of het slechte? In deze boekbespreking geef ik eerst een korte impressie van het boek, daarna een reflectie op het boek en tot slot mijn opinie.
