Private organisaties met een publieke taak – balanceren tussen verschillende perspectieven op waardecreatie

Abstract

Private organisaties met een publieke taak verschillen in eigendomsstructuur. Sommige organisaties hebben een partnerstructuur, andere organisaties hebben geen partners. Die verschillen in eigendom kunnen gevolgen hebben voor de prioriteit die professionals toekennen aan bedrijfseconomische prestaties en aan hun maatschappelijke taak. Dit artikel is gebaseerd op diepte-interviews met bestuurders van private organisaties met een publieke taak. Daarbij draait het om de vraag hoe die bestuurders invulling geven aan management control, opdat de organisatie haar publieke taak succesvol vervult, zowel bij organisaties mét als bij organisaties zonder partnerstructuur. Informele en interactive controls, zoals peer review, blijken daarin een cruciale rol te vervullen.
