Klimaatgerelateerde informatie in het bestuursverslag

Abstract

Klimaatverandering heeft een steeds grotere maatschappelijke impact. Ook de financiële gevolgen worden steeds meer zichtbaar. Daarom krijgt klimaatverandering binnen de verschillende Europese regelgeving prioriteit. In dit onderzoek onder AEX-, AMX- en AScX-ondernemingen wordt gekeken of ondernemingen transparanter zijn over klimaat in het bestuursverslag nu de Europese Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) en de Europese Taxonomy Regulation for Sustainable Activities (Taxonomy Regulation) van toepassing worden. Het artikel bespreekt ook diverse verbeteringen in transparantie over klimaatverandering ten opzichte van 2018 (Kamp-Roelands et al. 2019). Het onderzoek toont aan dat ondernemingen meer informatie opnemen, maar dat er nog steeds veel verbeteringen mogelijk zijn om de beschikbaarheid, relevantie en vergelijkbaarheid – en daarmee de bruikbaarheid – van de informatie te verbeteren.
