Effecten coronapandemie op de jaarverslaggeving 2020 van beursfondsen in Nederland

Abstract

In dit artikel wordt verslag gedaan van een onderzoek naar de effecten van de coronapandemie op de jaarverslaggeving 2020 van in totaal 85 ondernemingen waarvan aandelen zijn genoteerd aan Euronext Amsterdam, in het bijzonder naar de effecten op de verantwoording van overheidsbijdragen en bijzondere waardeverminderingen en de verklaring van de controlerend accountant. Ondernemingen in precaire sectoren bleken meer overheidssteun te hebben ontvangen en slechtere resultaten te hebben dan ondernemingen in niet-precaire sectoren. Wij vonden geen significant verband tussen de coronapandemie en de verantwoording van impairmentverliezen. Daarnaast geeft het artikel inzicht in het gebruik van key audit matters gelieerd aan COVID-19 en blijkt dat er een positief verband is tussen de mate waarin de onderneming COVID-19 noemt in het jaarverslag en de aandacht die de accountant daaraan besteedt in de accountantsverklaring.
