Desenvolvimento Sustentável em Moçambique 2001-2014: Evolução ou Retrocesso

Abstract

O objectivo desta pesquisa é analisar os estágios e os avanços para o alcançe das metas de Desenvolvimento Sustentável em Moçambique, no período de 2001 a 2014, através da aplicação do Barômetro de Sustentabilidade (BS), método de análise bidimensional, que inclui dois subsistemas, o humano e o ambiental, apartir dos quais são calculados os índices sintéticos, conhecidos por "índice de bem-estar ambiental e humano". O estudo consistiu em levantamento bibliográfico, em que foram selecionados 40 indicadores: 16 sociais, 4 económicos, 5 institucionais e 15 ambientais. Os resultados mostraram que Moçambique está no nível "potencialmente insustentável", em 2014, em comparação com a condição "insustentável, 2001", o que demonstra pouco progresso na obtenção de bem-estar socioeconómico e ambiental. Isto indicia a impossibidade de atingir as metas dos ODMs definidas até 2015.
