Dinâmicas Regionais Ganhadoras e Perdedoras na União Europeia Durante a Globalização Económica

Abstract

O novo contexto geoeconómico decorrente da globalização trouxe alterações significativas face à era precedente, pelo que se torna útil tentar perceber como tem evoluído a dinâmica socioeconómica nas regiões da UE. Dado que a globalização pode ser vista como produtora de desenvolvimento desigual entre territórios, foram identificadas as NUTS 2 que mais ganharam e as que mais perderam, em termos absolutos e relativos, a partir de um índice com 11 variáveis. Os resultados corroboram a ideia de que a integração económica decorrente da globalização parece beneficiar as regiões centrais de cada país, gerando dinâmicas que se refletiram na UE de um modo que ajudou algumas regiões com economias mais fortes a ganhar e outras, sobretudo mais fracas, a perder.
