Turismo no Litoral Versus Turismo no Interior Português. O Destino Turístico Serra da Estrela

Abstract

O presente artigo pretende enquadrar o destino Serra da Estrela no contexto dos destinos turísticos do interior, identificando os seus concorrentes directos e os que podem complementar a sua oferta turística. Conclui-se que há indícios de alteração da dinâmica turística nacional, com as zonas do interior a cresceram mais rapidamente que as zonas do litoral. A Serra da Estrela teria a ganhar se conseguisse ter como aliados o Douro (que apresenta uma maior dinâmica de crescimento) e o Alentejo Central (o destino mais estabelecido ao nível dos destinos do interior), e se conseguisse aumentar o seu perfil competitivo para concorrer com Trás-os-Montes, que apresenta argumentos competitivos semelhantes (destino rural e de montanha).
