Abstract

O presente artigo procura avaliar o impacto dos imigrantes nas diferentes áreas da economia portuguesa, passando pela dimensão demográfica, social e especialmente pela económica, mostrando que essa incidência difere consoante as nacionalidades. Sendo a comunidade de imigrantes bastante heterogénea, é possível traçar diversos perfis socioeconómicos e diferentes formas de integração no mercado de trabalho, associados sempre à sua nacionalidade. Procura-se ainda verificar algumas relações entre as regiões de destino da imigração, a sua especialização sectorial, o funcionamento dos mercados de trabalho e o desenvolvimento regional.
