Abstract

История появления первых коллекционных монет по некоторым данным уходит корнями в XVI век, когда правители Венеции заказывали специальные монеты, которые в последующем преподносились магистратам и чиновникам в качестве подарка. В те далекие времена к новому году было принято дарить своим знакомым домашнюю птицу или дичь, и монеты решили назвать «озеллами» («uccello»), что переводится с итальянского как «птица». Вышло так, что монета была равноценна птице, но была более удобной в хранении и использовании, нежели живая птица. Уже в древние времена коллекционная монета была куда более ценной и стоила больше, чем обычная монета и имела большую ценность.
