Abstract

The article considers the state of Russian market for wine: its domestic production and imports from other countries. The reasons for the increased domestic production of wine are identified; the measures of state regulation of viticulture and winemaking in Russia governed by the Federal Law “On Viticulture and Winemaking”, as well as the problems that arose during their implementation are indicated. It is noted that Russia’s wine imports increased almost 1.5 times in 2022; the list of countries actively increasing wine exports to Russia is given. Georgia stands out among these countries, which, according to experts, could become a leading exporters of still wines to Russia. Changes in the structure of wine imports by exporting countries were revealed. Promising areas for the development of the Russian wine market are outlined.
