Abstract

International trade in the 21st century is undergoing serious transformations, which requires a new understanding and interpretation of emerging trends at the theoretical level to solve practical issues in foreign economic activity. Therefore, the views of international business researchers should not only be presented in specialized scientific literature, but also conveyed to undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students. The scientific and practical conference “Foreign economic relations of Russia under sanctions and new challenges” held in 2023 at the Russian Foreign Trade Academy presented high quality research of modern conditions and factors of the economic environment based on a powerful theoretical base. It attracted many students and postgraduates interested in the issues of world trade and Russia’s participation in the modern international division of labour. The presentations of the conference participants focused on highlighting topical theoretical and practical issues, on methodological aspects of mastering the relevant disciplines of foreign economic activity, and thereby give the opportunity to develop skills of researching real market processes. The structure of the conference book of reports is logical; a thorough and thoughtful approach of the authors is clearly visible, with the aim of covering the content of the subject most fully. The reports presented at the conference cover a wide range of research problems relating to the world markets for agricultural products, mineral raw materials, machinery and technical goods and technologies in accordance with the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programmes in World Economy.
