Abstract

The article analyzes the changes in global prices for the main food groups as a factor in introducing measures restricting Russia’s domestic prices and exports. A list of the main stabilization measures of Russia’s foreign economic policy concerning food products in 2021 was determined. The changes in Russia’s food supplies and its role in the global food markets are studied on the example of the three largest food export items (soft wheat, barley, sunflower oil). The trade policy measures of the largest importer of the indicated Russian agriculture commodities (Turkey) to liberalize food imports are highlighted. Finally, the main factors and conditions determining Russia’s role in the global food markets in 2022 are identified.
