Abstract

A methodological approach to assessing the neo-industrial export specialization of regions was developed. An integral index of neo-industrial export specialization of a region is proposed. The index considers the contribution of high-tech sector of the regional economy to the foreign trade. It takes into account certain types of goods - machines, equipment and vehicles, export production capacity of such goods and high-tech services, and gross regional domestic product. Assessments of Russian regions’ neo-industrial export specialization with the proposed index were made and allowed to reveal the groups of regions with low, middle and high value of the index.
