Abstract

The author examines the rapid growth of the number of free trade zones in the global economy and in the UAE, as part of the group of free economic zones, and their impact on the expansion of exports. It highlights the UAE’s significant progress in moving away from reliance on oil and gas export revenues. In this regard, the territories created in the UAE, which are called “free trade zones” and “free economic zones”, are gaining more importance. The author analyzes the types and functions of various free economic zones in the UAE, emphasizes their high role in increasing export supplies to many countries of the world. Special attention is paid to the development of trade relations between Russia and the United Arab Emirates.
