The structure and changes in Russia’s exports of information technology services

Abstract

The article underlines an important trend of widespread transition to digital technologies that contributes to business development and new types of services creation. The authors define the difference in “information” and “digital technologies” terms. The analysis of the structure and changes in Russia’s exports of information technologies services is given with detailed statistics of international and Russian exports and listing the major importers. The authors describe the difficulties faced by domestic companies when entering foreign markets and suggest the ways to increase Russian exports of the services based on digital technologies.
