Abstract

The article deals with some inexactness of Russian translation of the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System. Specific examples of the incorrectness of certain Goods Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity of Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) meanings embedded in primitive English-language original texts are given. It is noted that the incorrectness of texts and the inconsistency of terms create problems in the customs control of the correct classification of goods. Digital customs technologies, based on semantic analysis, suggest the use of harmonized and definitely understable terms. The necessity of conducting a revision of the correctness of the translation and bringing the text of the HS to the maximum conformity to its international basis is substantiated.
