Uzbekistan: building a «digital economy»

Abstract

The article provides an overview of the current state of information and communication technologies (ICT) markets and prospects for the new economic segment - global “digital economy”. Particularly, it investigates the role of ICT in raising competitiveness and economic growth of countries, as well as easing access to public services. Moreover, it provides an analysis of the best international practices in developing ICT and the growth of the domestic ICT market.The author analyzes the development of digital technologies in Uzbekistan, notes the important role of government documents on the development of digital technologies.
