Abstract

Social entrepreneurship as a phenomenon is one of the most discussed and at the same time contradictory subjects covered both in foreign and Russian economic theory. Despite growing popularity, the theory of social entrepreneurship remains one of the least defined among the new managerial concepts and phenomena. In this paper, the authors suggest using a value-oriented approach in defining the boundaries of a social enterprise. In addition, universal classification of models of social entrepreneurship based on this approach has been developed. The authors propose to focus on the use of case-study and story boarding in order to develop a methodology for social entrepreneurship. These methods take into account the context of a social enterprise and identify the most important characteristics in the definition of a social enterprise - communication with the territory (community) and networking.
