The private health insurance market in Romania – past, present and future

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the evolution of the Romanian private health insurance market, based on all the ISC annual reports for 2001-2009. The initial boom was slowed down by the present financial and economic crisis, but the future perspectives of the private healthcare sector are bright.
