Türkiye’de Enerji Arz Güvenliği Riskinin Makroekonomik Etkileri: Vektör Hata Düzeltme Modeli

Abstract

Enerji günümüzde günlük hayatın ve ekonomik sistemin vazgeçilmez bir parçası haline gelmiştir. Enerji kaynaklarındaki tükenme endişelerinin arttığı bu dönemde enerji arz güvenliği kavramı da büyük önem kazanmıştır. Enerji arz güvenliği kavramı, enerjinin ucuz, kaliteli, sürekli ve temiz bir şekilde temin edilmesi olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Türkiye ekonomisi enerji sektöründe dışa bağımlılığı yüksek ekonomilerden biridir. Doğal olarak Türkiye içinde enerji arz güvenliği kavramı büyük önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de enerji arz güvenliği riskinin makroekonomik etkilerini incelemek amacıyla 1980-2016 dönemine ilişkin yıllık veriler kullanılmıştır. Nedensellik ilişkisi Vektör Hata Düzeltme Modeli (VECM) kullanılarak test edilmiştir. Çalışmanın ampirik sonuçlarına göre uzun dönemde enerji arz güvenliği riski ile ekonomik büyüme, yatırımlar, enflasyon ve cari açık arasında çift yönlü nedensellik ilişkisi olduğu, enerji arz güvenliği riskinden istihdama doğru ise hem kısa hem de uzun dönemde tek yönlü nedensellik ilişkisi olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlardan Türkiye’de enerji arz güvenliği riskinin sürdürülebilir bir düzeye indirilmesi durumunda uzun dönemde makroekonomik dengelerin olumlu yönde etkileneceği anlaşılmaktadır.
