Abstract

The increase in digital communication alternatives and the continuous decrease in the need for paper correspondence raises the question of which services should fall within the scope of the universal postal service? As digitization continues to reduce demand for traditional letter mail, postal operators around the world are seeking to increase operational efficiency, increase automation and promote the sustainable value of letter mail.
