Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the renewable energy sources installation potential (wind and min-wind power). This study has been developed both on individual holdings and Spanish irrigation communities. It is based on a new regulatory framework for electricity pricing (net metering). We have analyzed the energy consumption of individual irrigators and irrigation communities, which represent their own characteristics. Furthermore, we have analyzed the technical, financial and economic installation of machinery for wind power production, given the technology available and the variety conditions of each exploitation. The charging system for net-metering can be technically and economically viable for the future development of irrigated Spanish lands.
