Abstract

El caso de la Denominacion de Origen Calificada Rioja aporta referencias validas para esta discusion...Since the 1990's in the wine sector has been accepted the existence of two groups: The Traditional Producing Countries, located in Europe, and the New Producing Countries located in America (United States, Argentina and Chile), Africa (South Africa) and Oceania (Australia and New Zealand). This project has a triple objective: to emphasize the characteristics of the world market and its evolution; to verify the existence of both groups of countries and to question some of the hypothesis who are accepted in the sector. The objective is to confirm the supposed homogeneity of the two groups; the existence of general models with universal validity; and the application of a unique success strategy, which is associated with a big enterprise size and a high degree of internationalization. The case of the DOCa Rioja contributes with some references been worth for the discussion.
