Abstract

Se concluye que manejo cinegetico de la perdiz roja ha experimentado un proceso de ganaderizacion...It has been analyzed the evolution of the red-legged partridge management in Spain, standing out the technical changes and social responses to them and showing the social and ecological conflicts originated. It has been identified five historical periods: 1) Hunting of the red-legged partridge as single harvesting and the introductions of partridges, mainly at the foreign (until 1940). 2) Restocking with partridges captured in country, mainly of Spanish regions with low density of partridges (1940-1965). 3) Beginnings of the pre-industrial farming of the red-legged partridge (1950-1965), that originated primitive farming techniques still in use. 4) Firsts scientific assays (first half of the 1960 decade), that established the basis of the present intensive farming production. 5) Spreading of the game farms of red-legged partridges and diffusion of the restockings with farm partridges (1965-2004). It is concluded that the game management of the red-legged partridge has been progressively artificializated.
