Innovative industrialization in the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine

The purpose of the article is to determine the theoretical foundations of research process of innovative industrialization of agro-industrial complex and tendencies of development and features of agro-innovations implementation in Ukraine. Research methods. The complex of scientific methods has been used in the research: the method of dialectic for cognition of processes and phenomena, empirical method (to a comprehensive assessment of the current state of the study object), methods of analysis, comparison and description (to determine the state of development of the agricultural sector and the introduction of innovations in the agro-industrial complex), and specific methods, in particular, economic and statistical methods and graphic method to describe the main indicators of socio-economic development of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine, monographic method (analysis of the evolution of scientific views of scientists on understanding the concept of "innovation in the agro-industrial complex" ("agroinnovation") , analysis of the innovative industrialization of the agro-industrial complex), abstract-logical method (for theoretical generalizations, author's definition of concepts and conclusions formation) and others. Research results. On the basis of the secondary analysis of the results of empirical research, the essence of the concept of innovation, agro-innovation (or innovation in the agro-industrial complex) is revealed. The current state and tendencies of development of the agro-industrial complex are investigated. Basic agro-innovations are identified and their use is analyzed. The innovations for agribusiness developed by Ukrainian researchers are considered. Ukraine's position in the Global Innovation Rating is evaluated. The positions of agro-industrial enterprises in the innovation rating of Ukrainian companies are analyzed. Leaders in implementation of innovations in agro-industrial complex by Mind Innovation Index 2019 are identified. Scientific novelty. The article defines the author's definitions of the terms “agro-innovation” and “innovative industrialization of the agro-industrial complex”. They received further development of research into the types and processes of implementation of agro-innovation in the functioning of agribusiness, which is the basis of innovative industrialization of the agro-industrial complex. Practical significance. The results of this study can be used in teaching the subjects "economic theory", "economic policy", "macroeconomics", "national economy", as well as in the process of further scientific study of the processes of innovative industrialization of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine.
