Characteristics of Serbian Capital Market

Abstract

When we talk about the importance and advantages of a developed capital market, its effectiveness of capital raising and increase of profitability and efficiency are beyond doubt. Therefore, it is necessary to study the basic performance of the domestic capital market, because it is a necessary condition for further development and a positive direction. Special attention is paid to the Belgrade Stock Exchange as a secondary capital market and the basic infrastructure of trading securities. Also, the question of used and missed opportunities arises, from establishing of a market economy, after the collapse of the socialist block, through the global financial crisis to date. The answer to this question is also a way to improvement and development of domestic capital market.
