Gastronomy Tourism as a Factor of Regional Development

Abstract

Regional development represents an important topic within each state. Underdeveloped regions are mainly characterized by numerous problems which have important consequences in area: low level of economic development and social standards, the outflow of population and depopulation, unfavourable sex and age structure of population and the untapped possibilities of the economy on the basis of present resources. States from the region who realized the potential for regional development on time, offering more attractive form of tourism to the contemporary society aimed at exploring the culture and history through food. Gastronomic tourism becomes more and more attractive business in whose development a large number of subjects is involved. The aim of this study is to highlight the importance of the development of selective tourism, with the task to identify the ways in which the underdeveloped regions can take advantage of their potential in this field
