Evaluación Económica De Una Unidad Bovina Doble Propósito En El Trópico Húmedo

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to determine the income, costs, profit and break-even analysis in dual-purpose bovine herd located in Tabasco, Mexico. The data for this evaluation was obtained from the 2020 incomes and outcomes records, interviews with the producer and employees and visits to the production unit. The main income was the sale of the milk with a 66.87%, followed by the sale of the female calves for breeding stock (17.93%), the sale of male weaned calves (11.95%), and culled cows (3.25%). From the total of costs, the fixed ones represent a 50.39% of which manpower was the highest cost with 24.92% of the total costs. Followed by the land’s opportunity cost represented with a 13.59%. Regarding the variable costs, the feeding represents a 38.76% of the overall production costs. The obtained utility is 10.97% in relation to the income. The break-even point is of $2,151,080.84 Mexican pesos and the production break-even point is 214,697.81 milk liters.
