Análise da armazenagem e dos preços do milho no estado de São Paulo

Abstract

Este trabalho analisa as variações de preço de milho ao produtor e ao atacado e procura detectar a influência de variações de preço sobre as decisões quanto ao armazenamento do produto, no Estado de São Paulo. Os resultados indicaram que, no período de 1965 a 1975, a margem do atacadista oscilou entre 16% e 24%. A elasticidade de transmissão de preços, estimada em 0,76, indicou que para variações de 10% no preço ao produtor ocorrem, em média, variações de 7,6% no preço ao atacado. Verificou-se, também, que variações de preço do milho têm sido acompanhadas de variações nos estoques, no sentido de estabilizar os preços.
