Análise harmônica: uma aplicação para estudos de variações cíclicas de produtos agrícolas

Abstract

Este trabalho visa a determinar os padrões cíclicos mais relevantes de feijão, milho e arroz no Estado de São Paulo, bem como os coeficientes de flexibilidade e resposta dos preços às variações na quantidade vendida. Os resultados indicaram cicios bem definidos para o milho e o arroz. Quanto ao feijão, devido ao seu comportamento irregular no mercado, não apresentou qualquer padrão cíclico. Concluiu-se que a adoção de uma política que vise a melhores níveis de preço aos produtos acarretará maior custo social no caso do milho, pois este produto apresentou o menor coeficiente de flexibilidade de preço. Para o feijão, não foi possível medir este efeito, pois o comportamento do produto não foi descrito significativamente pelo método de Análise Harmônica.
