A contribuição da educação na produção agrícola

Abstract

O presente estudo tenta estimar taxas de retorno ao investimento em educação, considerando dois aspectos: número médio de anos de educação formal do produtor e diferentes níveis de educação entre eles. A região escolhida para o estudo é aquela na qual foi implementado o Programa de Assentamento Dirigido do Alto Paranaíba (PADAP), no Estado de Minas Gerais. As taxas de retorno ao investimento em educação foram determinadas através da combinação de duas técnicas: análise de "cash-flow" e função de produção. Os resultados revelaram uma taxa de retorno ao investimento em educação da ordem de 24,78%, quando se considera o número médio de anos de educação formal do produtor; por outro lado, quando taxas de retorno são calculadas para diferentes níveis de educação, o nível 4 a 8 anos de educação formal foi aquele que apresentou a maior taxa de retorno (25,45%).
