Abstract

Esta reunião da SOBER traz como proposta para discussão um tema que se julga da maior relevância: o problema da estabilidade de renda na agricultura. Neste trabalho, pretende-se apenas trazer algumas constatações empíricas sobre as implicações do desenvolvimento agrícola brasileiro quanto à renda na agricultura. A apresentação está dividida em 3 partes. Na primeira parte, far-se-á uma retrospectiva das estratégias de desenvolvimento econômico adotadas pelo Brasil nas últimas três décadas. Esta parte visa a elaborar um quadro de referência da evolução das políticas econômicas que tiveram maior influência sobre o setor agrícola, que caracterizaram o processo de desenvolvimento recente, em que a tônica tem sido a segmentação da agricultura em dois subsetores, o subsetor agrícola de exportação e o subsetor agrícola doméstico. Na segunda parte, discutir-se-á o problema de instabilidade de renda e será apresentada uma análise estatística de algumas medidas de variabilidade de renda na agricultura brasileira nas últimas três décadas. Finalmente, serão apresentados alguns comentários finais.
