Abstract

The aim of the study is to assess the development potential of Polish agri-food exports to China due to the changes that have occurred in recent years in the Chinese model of consumption. It characterized the potential of the Polish agri-food sector (production and exports, compared to EU partners). The study assumed that the starting point is the necessity to characterize the economy and society of China. Trends in the Chinese model of consumption are shown first. The next section focuses on the size and structure of demand for agri-food products that Poland is interested in exporting (dairy products and meat), and the present method of satisfying that demand. The last part of the article presents data concerning Polish agri-food exports to China and attempts to assess the potential of its development. / Synopsis.
