Abstract

The aim of this research is an assessment of agricultural function differentiation in the European Union countries in 2005 and 2013 based on selected indicators. The diversification of agricultural function was determined using the synthetic indicator. The following indicators were used in the analysis: average area of agricultural holding; the share of arable land in utilised agricultural area; grazing livestock density in LSU per 100 hectares of utilised agricultural area; the share of agricultural holdings with the area up to 5 hectares in all agricultural holdings. The research shows, that even though there are no major differences when taking under consideration EU countries class appurtenance, there are significant differences in the values scope of analyzed indicators between the years 2005 and 2013. / Synopsis.
