Abstract

The paper presents the results of studies on cigarettes consumption in Poland, based on the results of the Household Budget Survey (BGD) conducted by GUS and the changes taking place in the period 1999-2012 in territorial perspective. There has also been done classification of provinces in terms of the pace of change in cigarettes consumption in the period considered. The results were compared with participation of cigarettes from illegal sources data, indicating that its higher level is probably not the cause of underreporting by respondents spending on cigarettes in polls during the survey BGD. We also compared the relative level of consumption of cigarettes with a market share of cigarettes from the "gray zone". / Synopsis.
