Abstract

Poland and The Netherlands are the biggest mushroom exporters on the EU market. In recent years, however, the importance of Polish exports country has been increasing, and that of The Netherlands diminishing. Analysis of export prices received by both countries showed that prices paid to the Dutch are much more stable than in Polish exports. At the same time, especially in Poland, seasonal fluctuations in prices of frozen mushrooms are higher in comparison to fresh mushrooms. According to the theory of price convergence and the Law of One Price, it is to be expected, that the levels of Polish export prices and The Netherlands should head in one direction. The analysis has not confirmed unequivocally that direction of changes. Moreover, in the case of frozen mushrooms there is an increase of price differentiation, which causes the divergence. / Synopsis.
