Abstract

The aim of this research is to discuss diversification of agricultural determinants for renewable energy production in the agricultural biomass used in European Union countries. The paper classifies these countries into groups with different characteristic determinants. The diversification of agricultural determinants was established using cluster analysis. For the analysis the following indicators were used: the share of agricultural holdings with an area up to 2 hectares in all agricultural holdings, grazing livestock density in LU per 100 hectares of agricultural land, the share of arable land in agricultural land area, the shares of permanent grassland in agricultural land area, the share of permanent crops (orchards, olive trees, vineyards) in all areas. As a result of the cluster analysis the examined countries were divided into three groups. / Synopsis.
