Abstract

A new form of rural tourism, i.e. agriecotourism, and determinants of its development were presented. This kind of touristic services in rural areas includes organizing a stay for holiday-makers in agritourism farms. However, it differs from the typical agritourism because the host farmers practice the organic way of production. Tourists who stay in a agriecotouristic farm are served with food made from farm’s products. In the theoretical part of the article the essence of organic agriculture was shown. Numbers of organic producers and organic food processing plants in Poland were presented by provinces. Next, the number of agriecotouristic farms in Poland was presented. Moreover, factors of agriecotourism development in Małopolska voivodeship were presented. In empirical part of the work results of a research conducted in 20 agriecotouristic farms in this region were shown. / Synopsis. W artykule zaprezentowano nową formę turystyki wiejskiej, tj. agroekoturystykę i determinanty jej rozwoju.
