Abstract

The EU Common Agricultural Policy creates great opportunities for the areas of Eastern Poland, mainly by means of promoting a change of its orientation towards the development of its multifunctionality. These processes must be accompanied by an increase of GDP stimulating an increase in consumption, because a wealthy society is always seeking safe, differentiated food and such food is produced by agriculture in the analyzed region. Such phenomenon may contribute to the development of small farms. Another trend of strategic development of agriculture in the region may rely on the prospects for situation in which the revenues from sales of public goods in form of a natural landscape and biodiversity values become comparable or exceed the revenues from sales of agricultural products. Such state of things in the region of Eastern Poland is possible in a short period of time. / Synopsis.
