Abstract

The paper presents the utilization of selected European Union funds in the Zbuczyn community, Siedlce poviat. Studies conducted in rural communities show that possibilities exist for developing initiatives to support local development. The work outlines activities of local authorities and non-governmental organizations to receive EU funds for accelerating local development of rural areas. / Synopsis. Przedstawiono studium przypadku gminy Zbuczyn należącej do powiatu siedleckiego, którego tematem jest pozyskiwanie środków finansowych z unijnych funduszy strukturalnych. Scharakteryzowano absorpcję środków z funduszy strukturalnych i funduszu społecznego w nowym okresie programowania. Przedstawiono samoorganizację lokalnej społeczności w celu realizacji tzw. małych grantów w zakresie aktywizacji zawodowej oraz integracji społecznej.
