Abstract

Competitiveness and competition are basic categories of the market economy. While analyzing the foreign trade they acquire an international aspect. After the Polish accession to the EU, the Polish dairy industry showed a very favourable performance as regards the foreign trade, which can confirm its competitive position. It was confirmed with a statistical analysis but in order to retain such position further restructuring processes will have to be carried out. The restructuring processes would lead to an improvement in efficiency. The reform of dairy market regime tending to an abolishment of milk quotas can lead to further improvement in foreign trade results. Therefore comparative advantages would be maintained. / Synopsis. Konkurencja i konkurencyjność to podstawowe kategorie ekonomii rynku, a w analizach handlu zagranicznego mają one aspekt międzynarodowy.
