Abstract

Infrastructure is one of basic factors influencing the competitiveness of a territorial unit. The state and disparity of development of rural areas in Wielkopolskie voivodship with reference to the key elements of economic infrastructure and the competitive position of districts from the perspective of their infrastructural equipment is indicated. A group of districts most competitive because of the level of their infrastructural development has been distinguished, composed of four districts (poznański, jarocinski, średzki and gnieźnienski). Eleven districts (or 35% of their total number) have been classified as a group of low and very low competitiveness with this respect. / Synopsis.
