Abstract

Pig market is the leading meat market in the world in terms of supply and demand and it has also a high share in foreign trade. In the coming years, the importance of the industry to the world economy will grow, due to the development of production in developing countries and increased demand for pork meat as a result of population growth, increasing affluence of the countries in the world and changing consumption patterns. On the other hand, you can see some of the factors limiting the development of the sector, such as the rising cost of farming, the requirements of the environment or climate change. The aim of the paper is to present the current situation in the production and foreign trade of pigs in the world and to indicate the possible direction of change by the year 2020, against the background of global conditions. The study is a review of literature and data, with elements of deductive reasoning. / Synopsis.
