Abstract

The situation on the labour market in rural areas in the European Union is very diverse. There is visible disparity between the countries of Western Europe and Central and Eastern Europe previously undergoing transformation processes. This condition is mainly determined by demographic factors shaping the structure of the labour supply in rural areas. There are also important economic conditionings, creating the demand for labour, which can include, for example, labour productivity in agriculture, and employment opportunities outside agriculture. Not without significance there are also regional conditionings specifying particular areas, for example, their tourist attractiveness, or access of rural population to specific services and resources. / Synopsis.
