Efektywność emisyjna krajów Unii Europejskiej

Abstract

Celem opracowania było porównanie wielkości emisji gazów cieplarnianych ogółem w krajach członkowskich Unii Europejskiej oraz ich efektywności emisyjnej. Efektywność emisyjną obliczono jako stosunek wielkości i wartości emisji do wartości dodanej brutto generowanej przez gospodarkę danego kraju (wielkość gospodarki). Niezbędne dane statystyczne uzyskano z Eurostatu. Stwierdzono, że w 2015 roku najwięcej gazów cieplarnianych wyemitowały: Niemcy, Wielka Brytania, Polska, Francja i Włochy. Jednocześnie spośród tych krajów Francja i Wielka Brytania charakteryzowane były przez jedne z najlepszych efektywności emisyjnych w UE, Niemcy i Włochy uzyskały przeciętne wyniki, Polska zaś była w grupie krajów o najniższej efektywności emisyjnej. Wnioskować można, że na poziom emisji znaczący wpływ ma wielkość gospodarki. Część dużych emitentów ma gospodarki oparte o relatywnie „czyste” technologie i tym samym ich dalszy potencjał redukcyjny nie jest bardzo wysoki. Odwrotna sytuacja ma miejsce w przypadku niektórych krajów o niskich emisjach, np. Estonii i Bułgarii. Wskazuje to na konieczność bardziej kompleksowego spojrzenia na problem redukcji emisji gazów cieplarnianych.
